Some of you may of read that I gave up my iPhone a few months back. I sent myself to rehab, got a flip phone and called it quits.
Rehab was great! I learned a lot, spent time with the ones I love and realized how sad my sisters and brothers around me look.
When your eyes are opened to certain things, you see them or hear about them a lot more. I can’t explain it but I see so little true connections these days it saddens me. Online we have videos of folks falling in the fountains, bumping into walls and more. Just to be connected?
But to what? What are you connected to?
Those connections are nothing but empty data. Real connections need to be made a priority or our kids and their kids will be the ones paying the price.
As some of you may be aware, my flip phone died and the upgrade to an Android phone was basically free so I took it. As of right now, my HTC Inspire is driving me nuts. I much rather have my iPhone back. (if you know anyone wanting to try Android, I would take a 3GS or 4) BUT, the way in which I use it such a drastic change than before.
It is a phone, and that is all it is. I leave the phone in the house when I go outside with my family. I am not playing games while my family is around if at all. Texting is never an issue any longer (thanks google voice for free texting) and in reality, it’s just a fancy phone with a big screen.
If you haven’t, maybe take some time off from your connected device. It would be good for you, especially for those around you!
