As you can tell, I have changed the look and feel of the site in a big way. Why? Well because I was bored with the grey monotone colors of the old Geek for Him.
The current look and feel is all about where I am wanting to head in life. As a writer, blogger, designer, father, and a husband, I want to head to a place of quietness, where ideas flow, decisions are made in wisdom and discipline, and creations start anew.
The colors, while dark, allow for me to get at the heart of things, allowing me to really get used to be being in the dark. The dark in my family life, work life, and even here on Geek for Him. He is in total control and I am wanting to be lead.
Sitting here in the dark is a place I thought I would never be, but the feeling of knowing I am not alone is a large weight off of my back.
Please do not get me wrong, things are fine at home, work etc.. this is my way of saying I want to do better for God. In every way possible.
So with a fresh start in life, reading, writing etc. it was time for a new look.
The colors you see now, speak up if they are off or could be better. Obviously the header is what it is, my love for Technology and all things Apple. The colors surrounding the header, the post content are subject to change but I think I have found a warm neutral blue color palette to lighten up the dark of the header for easier reading ability.
And of coarse, if I blog, I blog on Standard Theme, so that hasn’t changed. The bar for all other themes to raise to is still the same with Standard Theme!

Good stuff man! I’ve tried and tried to do more of a better design on my blog, just haven’t truly been inspired to go any certain direction, so I’ve kept it simple.
I have stolen some stuff from you/herb (counter widget/comment reply colors, etc) just because you guys have seemed to have most of the elements I like w/ Standard.
Love the thin blue line around the body, and the background texture is subtle and nice.
Couple of things:
- Is it a personal choice to not have some sort of comment subscription?
- Your favicon is a grey box, that also on purpose?
