Cydia Reporting HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error

Just got done Jailbreaking my iPhone 4 on 5.1.1 with Absinthe, the latest jailbreak. I must say, it took about 6 minutes and I am loving it! You may be a bit scared since it says “Restore in Progress” but relax, it’s just part of the jailbreak process.

First thing I did was to launch Cydia, well if you’re receiving a HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error, just like I am when trying to download packages in Cydia, don’t worry be happy! Since Absinthe was released this morning, Saurik’s server have been taking a pounding.

There’s just too much traffic to handle all of the requests for cool tweaks and awesome hacks!

The thing that makes this jailbreak more significant than any other before it, is that it’s compatible with so many devices from the get go.

Seeing a Mac and Windows simultaneous release is a first as far as I am aware, BUT it’s been a long time since I last jailbroke my iPhone.

So, moral of the story, be patient. Put on a movie or something and try again in a few hours. The server’s will level out and all of us will once again be happy!

Did you jump on the Jailbreak bandwagon? It’s fun and everyone is doing it!
