Case Review: Portenzo

Posted by Matthew Snider with 6 Comments

I have been on a roll lately in reviewing iPad cases. Thanks to all of you out there that send them my way to giveaway and to review!

Today I had the chance to review a case, in which my iPad 2 now resides. There are a few partial reasons it resides now in the Portenzo case. Namely the awesome color of Orange. I have a handmade Orange (with blue elastic strap..Go ‘Cuse!) case that comes fully loaded.

So without further ado, I would like to introduce you to my new iPad 2 case:

The Portenzo

Things I like:

Options! One of the more unique things about Portenzo is the massive catalog of options they have.

The color choices are key in deciding how you want to show off your iPad or iPad2. The Case, the inside cover, the elastic strap and more can all be customized in many different colors.

Other options include a stylus holder (see above) and the ever increasingly important camera hole. Necessary? Possibly.

This case is the same as the smart cover. It has built in “wake up” magnets so your machine goes to sleep and wakes up with the flip of the cover.

There is even a secret on and off switch included. Maybe if you are good I will tell you all about it! Push on the upper right of your iPad. It’s that easy - ingenious!

Portenzo also introduced and was kind enough to build into my review unit, the new “IntelliStand” option.

The IntelliStand will allow any case to be viewed from three different viewing angels creating the perfect stand for working or watching without sacrificing functionality or style. In fact, it creates a sophisticated look while maintaining the nostalgic appearance of a moleskin notebook.

Things I don’t like:

I feel that it is a bit heavier than the other options. In all honestly, we are talking ounces though!

I told you it was small.

Between my first case, the DODOCase, to the Beacon Case and now on to Portenzo, they all have their strengths and weaknesses. I must say though, the Portenzo is the winner in my eyes due to the fact of Orange. While colors may not be your thing, it is mine and I would recommend a good look at Portenzo and their products!

  1. After getting my DODOcase I confess that the Portenzo was very tempting. The stylus holder, camera hole and smart cover wake/sleep features were hard to resist. I like the composition notebook cover best.

  2. I really like this one… Very tempting. I am looking for a case for mine right now. Trying to narrow it down from the ones you have mmentioned. Thanks for the reviews.

  3. Hi.. Did u also get the intellistand option.. If yes does it scratch the back of your iPad??
